In Mr. Patate, Karim Randé plays with our expectations. He deliberately pokes the audience in the wrong direction and pierces through preconceptions. Using the familiar toy as a starting point, he shows how a prosthetic body can be strange, funny, wobbly and at the same time wonderfully unique.
After an amputation, Karim Randé discovers his body and his circus technique anew. Out of that quest, Cie BaNCALE is born in 2018: a company that shows how vulnerability can become strength, how a shaky body makes something unique and unwavering. An artistic investigation of bodily diversity and its aesthetic potential.
