Cirque Plus goes London

From 13 to 16 March 2023, the Circus Centre organised a working visit to the UK (London, New Bury and Bristol). That visit was part of the project 'Circus connections between Flanders and the UK'. Cirque Plus was present in Jacksons Lane, a creative and cultural centre in North London and an important supporter of contemporary circus in the UK. Els Degryse explained our work on inclusive circus there. She exchanged views with Kelsie Acton of the Battersea Arts Centre, number 1 in the world in the field of relaxation performances*, and Kaveh Rahnama, project leader of Future Formed, a project that supports 16-30 year-olds in finding jobs in the creative sector.

* Relax performances are low-stimulus performances where sudden sound and light effects are avoided, and people have the opportunity to leave the room and come back in. Pioneer in Flanders is the performance "Permit, oh permit my soul to rebel" by circus company Side-Show.
